About Stella Dance Company

Stella Dance Company, formerly The Ballet Montmartre is a young ballet company active in the Orange County area. It is composed of dancers from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, some of whom are economically disadvantaged and rely on scholarship aid to dance.

The Artistic Director of Stella Dance Company, a former principal dancer with Romanian Opera House, has brought the company a fresh outlook, using the strong technique of classical ballet and her impressive choreographic talent. These provide a solid foundation for the dance company and ensure inspiring performances throughout the year.

Stella Dance Company provides services to the community as a training ground for aspiring professional dancers and as a resource for education and entertainment.

Performances by Stella Dance Company, include an annual production of 'A Christmas Carol' at Plummer Auditorium, Fullerton, appearances at Irvine Barclay Theater, South Coast Repertory, Curtis Theater, Robert B Moore Theater, community festivals, schools, churches and hospitals.

Stella Dance Company is also a member of the Arts Organization of Orange County.

I can clearly remember the first time I auditioned for the company of The Ballet Montmartre (now Stella Dance Company). I was eleven. My mom dropped me off and I was on my own. Reassured by the familiarity of my old black leotard and pink ballet shoes, I followed the other girls into the studio. The music was put on, and Miss Stela began the class with the judges looking on.
